Portuguese Trail Running Cup 19/20
This Sunday was held the Portuguese Trail Running Cup for the 19/20 season, a joint organisation between the Portugal’s Trail Running Association, Melsport, and the Municipality of Melgaço.
A bold move by the Trail Running Association, but one that aimed to test the feasibility of organising races even with the constraints of COVID.
Cream covered the event, accompanying the athletes on the ground and broadcasting moments of intense competition, with Matias Novo Fotografias as its partner in photographic coverage.
In view of the declaration of a State of Emergency and all its restrictions, on Saturday the organisation welcomed all athletes, who underwent rapid Covid-19 tests at the Melgaço Training Centre.
On Sunday, the race took place in accordance with all safety measures, with athletes wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and with a 1 minute interval between blocks of athletes.
In the end, the race turned out to be quite competitive, with only 17 seconds separating the top two finishers.
