“The Abutre has awoken.” So goes the official song of Trilhos dos Abutres, first released at the 2019 Trail World Championships Presentation Gala.

With the attendance of distinguished entities and athletes, the Gala presentation of the 2019 Trail World Championships, and the draw for the Ultra Trilhos dos Abutres, took place at the Casa das Artes in Miranda do Corvo, with a show provided by the Abutrica Association, which left no one indifferent, resulting in news that spread a little all over the world.

The 2019 World Championship Presentation Gala was also the event where the pre-registration draw took place, broadcasted live around the world, with unprecedented media coverage, and the Trilhos dos Abutres made history yet again, achieving more than 2,000 pre-registrations for just one distance (44 km) in the Ultra Trilhos dos Abutres.

The following day, several hundred athletes gathered at the venue that will host the World Championship race in June, Miranda do Corvo Town Hall, to ‘test’ part of the course, in a warm gathering that warmed up a very cold morning! Once again, the trails left no one indifferent.

The charity race bib is an option for those who were not lucky enough to get a place. Although they are more expensive, part of the money goes to institutions in the region, and once again, records were broken. The link to register for charity bibs was released at midnight, and by 9 a.m. it was already sold out.

The Trilhos dos Abutres continue to make history and break records in terms of media coverage, and this factor places an added responsibility on us.
